What is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder?

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is an umbrella term that includes a wide range of effects and disabilities that can occur to an individual whose mother consumed alcohol during pregnancy. An individual with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder can have cognitive, physical, social, emotional and learning disabilities.

While allied health therapists cannot diagnosis FASD, they can support families by creating functional goals to meet the unique needs of individual children.
